London - here we come

Min kæreste kom glad hjem og fortalte at han havde fri søndag og mandag, og det tog derfor ikke mange minutter derefter inden flybilletter til London og hotel var betalt. Ihh hvor jeg glæder mig til en mini-ferie.

My boyfriend came home today with news that he has sunday-manday off, and we a now printing our tickets to London. Can't wait for our mini get-away.

How to depot your MAC shadows

Jeg har nogle M.A.C øjenskygger som jeg skal have over i mine paletter, og her følger en guide til det.
I have to get my MAC shadows over in my palettes, and wanna show you guys how to do that.


You will need the following:

Depotting tools

• Glattejern/straightening iron
• Shadows
• Bagepapir eller kaffefiltrer/coffee filtres
• Spids kniv eller saks/pointy scissor or knife
• Magnetisk tap/Magnetic tape

 

Start med at tage din shadow og din saks, og put den spidse ende ind i åbningen på boksen.

Begin with your shadow and your scissor, and put the tip of your scissor in the box' opening.

Tænd derefter for glattejernet og placer kaffefiltret og dernæst din shadow, og lad den stå i 30 sek.

Turn on your straightening iron and place the coffee filter and shadow on top, and leave for 30 sec.

I bunden af skyggen kan du nu se hvor limen er. Tag din saks og påfør tryk på dette sted, indtil din shadow løsner sig fra plastikken, og du kan fjerne den.

At the bottom of the shadow you can see where the glue is  on the inside. Apply a pressure on that spot with your scissor until the shadow pops out of the plastic.

Tag din magnetiske tape og klip et stykke af, som du klistrer under din øjenskygge.

Cut of an appropriate size of your magnetic tape and put under your shadow.

Placer den store boks på glattejernet i 10 sekunder, fjern derefter mærkatet under bunden med din saks og flyt det over på den løse øjenskygge.

Lastely take the big box and place on the iron for 10 seconds, and use your scissor to remove the sticker and place on top of the magnetic tape.

The shadows are now ready for your palettes.

How to secure your brushes names and numbers

Jeg er lettere (mine bekendte vil nok sige meget) neurotiske med mine ting, og jeg kan ikke holde ud når der er uorden eller når tingene ikke ser ordentlige ud. Især hader jeg af flere grunde, når navne og numrer på ens børste bliver slidt af.
Efter at have prøvet diverse ting for at forhindrer dette, såsom voks, neglelak, hårlak osv., vil jeg vove den påstand at jeg har fundet løsningen: Ocean lack varnish.


I am a little (my friends will properly say extreme) neurotic with my stuff, and I can't stand mess or when things don't look nice. Especially, due to multiple reasons, I hate when the names and numbers on brushes are worn off.
After having tried multiple things to prevent this, ex. nail polish, hairspray, wax etc., I will make the allegation that I now have the answer: Ocean Lack varnish.

Alt efter hvilke børste man skal lakere, kan man vælge lakken i enten mat eller blank finish. Hvis man eksempelvis skal lakere Bobbi Brown børste vælges blank finish, mens jeg til disse M.A.C børste bruge den matte udgave.

All depending on which brushes you need to protect, you can get the lacquer in either mat or shine finish. If you are going to do Bobbi Brown brushes, you would use the glossy finish, but to these MAC brushes I'm going to use the mat version.

Du skal bruge følgende:

• Papir/paper
• Ocean lack
• Brushes
• Evt. vatpind (ellers brug fingrene)

Dyp finger eller vatpind i lakken og smør et "tykt" lak på børsten hvor navn og nummer står. Lakken vil komme på mælkehvid men tørrer gennemsigtig.

Dip your finger in the lacquer and apply a rather "heavy" coat on top of the name and number. The lacquer will apply milky-white but dry completely see-through.

Jeg har endnu ikke skulle vedligholde denne metode på mine børster.
I have yet to need to maintain my brushes after using this method on them.

Jeg har mine M.A.C øjenskygger i mine paletter, men beklageligvis er det kun muligt at købe refill i København (Magasin online shop - kom så ind i kampen), og jeg kan derfor tilbringe min vilde fredag aften med at depotte øjenskyggerne.

I keep my MAC shadows in my palettes but unfortunately Copenhagen is the only place selling them in Denmark, and due to that, I am now gonna spend my wild Friday night depotting shadows.

Trax: Burgundy-plum flecked with bronze shimmer (velvet finish). 

Club: Muted reddish brown duochrome with green opalescent shimmer (satin). Club is the perfect shadow if you want to achieve the Victoria Beckham-look.

Inspireret af de +20 grader som vejrudsigten byder på, har jeg købt den mest fantastiske liquidlast liner, Blue Horizon. Det fantastisk ved disse liners er det fine skær samt holdbarheden - det eneste der kan få dem af er vitterligt kun make-up remover. Jeg glæder mig allerede til at lave en lækker liner og synge sange fra 80'erne.

Inspired by the +20 degrees the weather prognosis is offering, I have brought the most amazing liquidlast liner, Blue Horizon. The great thing with these liners are the beautiful shine and lasting power - the only thing able to get these off are make-up remover. I'm already looking forward to creating a hot liner and singing songs from the eighties.

Jeg fik ligeledes stocket op på lidt jeg var løbet tør for. Den klassiske Smolder fra M.A.C som er uundværlig ligeså snart man skal blende en kohl.


I also got to restock on a few items I had run out of. The classicc Smolder from MAC, is hard to do without if you ever need to blend your kohl.

Ready to walk the sunny walk

Just hjemvendt fra en tur i sommerhus i Skagen, og budt velkommen i lejligheden igen af hele mine vintersko-samling, som nu virker som en rød klud for solens øje. 
Pengene retur fra skat, har derfor fået et delmål, og efter få tryk på tastaturet, ser jeg nu frem til at det er disse skønheder der byder mig velkommen hjem i næste uge.

Just returned home from a mini-vacation in Skagen, to be welcomed home by my winter-shoe-collection, which appears to be mocking the sun.

The money I got back from taxes, now have a goal, and after a few click, I now look forward to be greeted by these lovelies next week.
